Measurements and local data
Breathing-frequency measurements, dates, optional age settings, Regularity scores, I:E Timing results and notes are stored locally on your device so the app can provide History and related functionality. These measurement results are not sent to medappear or Google Analytics.
You can delete saved measurements in the app. You can also remove local app data by deleting the app, subject to normal iOS data behaviour and any data the platform may retain independently.
iCloud one-time-notice preference
For the Respi-Rate 3.2 product-information update, the app may use Apple iCloud Key-Value Storage to synchronize a small preference indicating that the one-time information notice has already been shown. Synchronization is best-effort and is not described as immediate or guaranteed.
This mechanism does not synchronize Measurement History, breathing-frequency measurements, age settings, I:E Timing results, Regularity scores or notes. medappear does not receive the synchronized preference value.
Optional Usage Analytics
Analytics is disabled until you enable Share Usage Analytics. If enabled, Respi-Rate uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand app use and improve the product. Analytics may include app interaction events; measurement start, completion, cancellation or timeout without the calculated measurement result; feature selections; purchase-screen and purchase-flow events; app and device information; a pseudonymous app-instance identifier; and approximate or coarse location derived from the network connection. Respi-Rate does not request GPS access for analytics.
Measurement results themselves are not sent. medappear does not use this analytics implementation for personalized advertising or cross-app or cross-site tracking. Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis for optional usage analytics is your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time under Menu → Usage Analytics; disabling analytics stops future collection.
Purchases and trial
Apple processes Lifetime Pro purchases and the 7-day Pro trial through StoreKit. Respi-Rate uses StoreKit transaction and entitlement information to determine Pro access. The trial does not create an automatically renewing subscription or an automatic charge. Apple handles payment and App Store account information; medappear does not receive payment-card information.
Other local settings
The app stores ordinary preferences and operational state locally, including settings such as theme, enabled features, onboarding state, review-request timing and analytics consent. These values support app functionality and remain on the device unless iOS removes the app's data. They are separate from the limited one-time-notice preference described above.
Service providers and international processing
Google acts as the analytics provider only when analytics is enabled. Google may process analytics information outside your country or the European Economic Area under its applicable data-transfer safeguards.
How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services
Apple provides App Store and StoreKit services, payment and account processing, and the limited iCloud Key-Value Storage described above. medappear does not receive your payment-card information or Apple ID/iCloud credentials.
Retention
Local measurements and settings remain until you delete them or delete the app, subject to normal iOS data behaviour. You may disable future analytics collection in the app at any time. Google retains analytics information according to the configuration and safeguards applicable to the Respi-Rate Firebase/Google Analytics property.
Legal bases and your rights
Where the GDPR applies, optional usage analytics is processed on the basis of your consent. Local processing needed to provide app functionality takes place on your device at your request when you use the app and its features.
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection where applicable, data portability where applicable, and withdrawal of consent. You may also lodge a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů — ÚOOÚ).
Respi-Rate has no user accounts. Because optional analytics uses a pseudonymous app-instance identifier, medappear may be unable to associate a specific analytics record with you or fulfil a record-specific request where no reliable association is technically available. Questions and privacy requests may be sent to .
Children, security and changes
Respi-Rate is not designed or marketed as an app for children to use independently. Age Reference Intervals refer to the observed person and do not determine the age of the app user.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the limited information processed. We may update this policy when the app, service providers or legal requirements change; the effective date above identifies the current version.
